We’re excited to open submissions to our fourth annual Bright Wings poetry contest in partnership with Ekstasis Magazine! We believe in the power of poetry to move the spirit and shake the world. Let’s hear your voice ring loud!

Our panel judges for this year’s contest are:

Deadline for Entry: December, 15th, 2023

Entry Fee: $20 for up to three poems

Winner will receive a $1000. honorarium, read the winning poem live at The Breath & the Clay creative arts gathering and have the poem featured in an issue of Ekstasis Magazine.

Second and third prize winners will be featured on Makers & Mystics and Ekstasis Instagram stories and newsletter.

The Fine Print:

• Poets may submit up to 3 original poems crafted within the past 3 years.

• Poems may not have been previously published in periodicals, chapbooks, magazines or anthologies.  

• Simultaneous submissions are acceptable. Only 3 poems per submission are permitted. 

• Poems can be on any topic, with any length (up to ten pages,) using any style preference.

• Poets should refrain from entering the contest if relationship to the panel judges constitutes a conflict of interest. Submissions will not be accepted from team members of Makers & Mystics and Ekstasis, their families, or working relations.

• Winning poet retains copyright to your submitted material.

• Makers & Mystics reserves the right to disqualify any entries deemed to jeopardize the integrity of the contest.

• Entry fee is non-refundable.

• Entrants agree to be added to MM and EM email lists. You can unsubscribe anytime.

• Winner(s) will be announced via Instagram on January 2nd, 2024.
